We're better than the other areas! *ahem*
I'm a pretty free spirited guy but I also believe that we are barbarians without a few rules to keep us grounded with an inkling of sanity. So aside from any personal ethics or rules you've placed upon yourself, here's some extra ones that we should all abide by:
1. No Spam - This area is for people to write interesting ideas, fantastical stories, or dreams that were so spooky we had to tell someone about it. I don't want any threads that have only one sentence or no general purpose being in this location. If you have to send a message to a friend, do so in private, in the shout box or in the crazy area!
2. No Trolling - I don't want to see any mean-spirited joking, purposely bad quality threads, or mocking of our writers in general. This is a place where we can either display our ability to share our imagination, expand upon it, or improve it!
3. Parody Threads Are Allowed - This rule is subject to change, I will make an announcement if it ever does. I'm certain a lot of you enjoy parodies once in a while, I know I do! I will allow joke threads/stories as long as they are tasteful, have thought put into them, are not insulting, and have a decent length. However if these types of threads start to clog up the forum space then I will disallow them for as long as necessary.
4. No Excessive Correcting - Can't tell you how many fledgling artists and writers drop the craft because of one person's constant nitpicking. We're all learning and should accept criticism, however everything has its limits. A person may be bad at spelling or grammar, you can help by sending them a PM with a fixed version if you're so inclined to help. Artists may have left errors in their work as a personal touch, or they might not yet have the capacity to display their vision on paper exactly as they see it in their mind. It's my personal belief that we should keep some mistakes of the past saved so that we can look back on them and see how much we've developed in the present!
I'll add more rules as the forum gets bigger!
